20-Minute Upper Body Shred Workout for Women Over 40

Your upper body is going to love to hate this workout 😘

Using a series of different training techniques – hello there ladder workout, oh, and hello there sets and reps – I mix it up so you get the results that you are looking for in a strength workout.

And then for tomorrow try my Barre workout to hit the hips, glutes, and legs. 👍🏽

 

TOOLS NEEDED

A pair of light + moderate dumbbells

THE WORKOUT

1. Push-up ladder drill with inchworms
1 – 10

2. Kneeling row
3. Other arm
2 x 30sec

4. Dumbbell together tricep presses with crunch
1-10

5. 1 arm skull crusher
6. Other arm
2 x 30sec

7. Kneeling bicep curls
2 x 30sec

8. Reverse flys ladder drill
1 -10

30-Minute Inner Thigh Workout for Women 

Okay, this may be an inner thigh workout but my ass was SORE the next day.

You see to target the inner thighs I used a lot of multi-joint exercises (ie. plie squats, side lunges, bridges) to get them fired up.

However… these moves also target the core, quads, hamstrings, hips AND glutes.

Which is why my butt took the brunt of the workout 🙂 I’d love to know if you’re sore after this one.

TOOLS NEEDED

A pair of moderate dumbbells
A yoga block or simliar

THE WORKOUT

1. Plie squat – Pulse
2. 1 heel up plie squat – Pulse
3. Other heel up plie squat – Pulse
4. Both heels up plie squat – Pulse
1 x 4 minutes

5. Step out side lunge
6. Gate swings
7. Other leg step out side lunge
8. Wide sumo squat with jumps
3 x 30sec

9. Bridge hold with squeeze
10. Scissors (toes turned out)
2 x 30sec

11. Dead bug squeeze
12. Frog presses
2 x 30sec

13. Inner thigh llrg lifts – Pulses — Up & over
14. Other leg – Pulses — Up & over
1 x 1:00

35-Minute Home Dumbbell Workout for Women

It’s my birthday on Saturday. I’m still not sure how I feel about it.

On one hand it’s a year to celebrate, since it’s the last time I’ll be in my 40’s. On the other hand it’s kinda a dumb year cause I’ll be living in the shadow of 50 for the next 12 months.

Loving husband, when he turned 49, just told everyone he was 50. He said it helped adjust to being the big 5-0. I really don’t think I need 2 years of being 50 though.

So I think, instead, I will toast myself on Saturday and embrace 49 and all it’s 49-ish pros and cons.
