50-Minute HIIT Workout for Fat Loss

Loving husband drives us everywhere. I never drive if he’s with me.

And it’s not because he insists, it’s because I insist.

I hate driving.

It’s boring, I get all cramped up, my low back starts to hurt, my mind starts to wander, I get frustrated with other drivers.

But, when he drives I don’t mind being in the car at all.

I play with the stereo, I keep him entertained, I people watch, catch up on my emails and schedule my social media.

It’s a very productive time for me.

Now, with that said, the other part of driving I despise is getting gas.

Ugh. Call me lazy. Call me a princess. Call me spoiled. Just don’t call me to put gas in your car.

So, to avoid getting gas I strategically use up all the gas in my car until Loving Husband needs it.

I know every Tuesday night he needs my car to get to volleyball. Giving me a full week to use up all the gas so when he gets in the car the gas light is on and he has to get gas.

I have been doing this for months! And it works – every week!

Let me tell you, it’s not easy either.

I have to plan just the right amount of automobile activity that will get that stupid light to go on by Tuesday.

It takes planning and a bit of luck.

But, I am pretty damn proud of myself so far.

New Year’s Resolutions

Today is  January 1st – so Happy New Year!

Everyone is rolling out of bed today with the best of intentions to make their resolutions, their promises to themselves, stick for the year.

And I love that.

In fact, I have a few myself cause I’m always trying to up my game – and what better time to begin but with a new year.

What I don’t love, however, is when we beat ourselves up, or throw in the towel completely, if we go off the rails.

What is attainable, and completely in your power though, is what you do when you do hit a bump and fall down.

The way I see it you got two choices: A) give up, B) dust yourself off and get back up again.

Which choice can you live with?

35-Minute Bodyweight HIIT

Today’s workout is the PERFECT workout to do if you are:

  • Travelling and have no access to equipment
  • In need of a cardio workout
  • Looking to strengthen the legs (especially the glutes)
  • Wanting a good core workout
  • Feeling down and need a smile on your face

This workout only uses your bodyweight and is suitable for all levels.

It is also loving husband’s first harder workout with me and I wish I had a dollar for every time he moaned, groaned or rolled his eyes at me – cause after this 35-minute workout I would have had enough cash for a visit to the ol’ spa.

I won’t lie. This workout almost killed loving husband. But, it’s not because it’s a super hard core workout.

It’s really because he just has not been working on his cardio lately and he is getting over a really bad cold that lasted for almost two months!

So, nonetheless, two-minutes into the warm up he was already huffing and puffing.

However, he was a great sport and he did his very best (albeit sometimes the wrong exercise at the wrong time). And that’s all a wife and a trainer can ask for.
