No, instead, smile a bit (especially when doing a task you might not really love), and the brain will get the message, and in return flood your body with those feel good endorphins.

I was sitting at an intersection the other day when I glanced at the top of my head in my rearview mirror (I don’t know, to fix my bangs or something probably), when I noticed a grey hair.

WTF? On closer inspection I noticed some more.

Now, I do have a grey hair. Yup. One. It’s by my forehead and I pluck it.

I pluck it in front of all my other hairs too. So they can see what happens if they too decide to be rebellious and go grey.

It’s like a warning, behave or you’re gone baby.

But, they ain’t behaving anymore. In fact, there is a bloody mutiny going on.

And this just happened too. Last month (when I was 47) everything was cool. Now, at 48, everything is not so cool anymore.

What’s girl to do?

Head to the hairdresser I guess. Cause if I keep plucking I might be bald πŸ™‚

I’m just waiting for loving husband to come home so we can have dinner.

Tonight’s meal is salmon, roasted veggies and a spinach salad, and… if he eats his salad tonight this will be 3 nights in a row that he has eaten green veggies!

What??!!

Who is this man, and what the f*ck did he do to my husband?

Hahaha, seriously though.

This is a man who thinks M&M’s are a great snack option (cause they are vegetarian, he claims), and that chocolate cake is perfectly fine as an appetizer.

But, I won’t get too excited just yet. Cause technically we haven’t had dinner yet, so technically he hasn’t eaten his salad yet.

I’ll keep ya posted.

New Youtube Welcome Video

A couple of weeks ago I hired my favourite videographer, Patrick, to help me with a new YouTube welcome vid.

I wanted something more professionally shoot, and more fun.

So, I came up with the concept of poking a little fun at the fitness industry.

There I was, on a cold Sunday afternoon, dressed in questionable attire on the main street in our little town of Ladner.

It took about 8 takes to get the opening, with a few cars stopping to watch the action, one to tell me to get some clothes on, cause it’s cold out (thanks Mario, duly noted), and a few gathered around on the sidewalk hoping to catch a glimpse of a star.

HAHAHA, joke was on them, wasn’t it?

It’s my birthday tomorrow.

I’m not sure how that happened.

First I’m not sure how it became March so quickly, and second how I became 48 so quickly?

Now, I realize that 48 is not that old.

In fact, I don’t totally hate almost being 50.

I kinda like being in my late forties, or more that I like the wisdom that we have in our middle age, compared to the lack thereof that our pain in the ass, self absorbed, 20-year old selves didn’t have.

BUT… I just don’t know how it came so fast.

It’s fitting that Disney and Oprah open their new movie this weekend called “A Wrinkle in Time”.

Cause yeah Oprah, there has been some serious wrinkles in my timeframe.

I know you can relate.

We all wonder, at some point in our lives, “Where the f*ck did the time go?”.

There is a paradox, to getting older, though.

Scientists have found a clear, linear relationship between age and mental health: the older people get the happier they feel (read more here).

There’s some nice silver for our lining.

So cheers.

Here’s to getting older, to not being able to read the small print anymore, to wondering (every-so-often) how we can stop that damn clock from ticking so fast, and to never stop laughing at ourselves.
